With the introduction of the Cobra Jet 428 in 1968, Ford had a real muscle car. The top of the line in 1969 was the 428 Cobra Jet with Ram Air in the form of a shaker hood scoop. With special striping, a blacked out hood and the new for ’69 styling these Mustangs were an aggressive car with performance to back up that image. Available in every body style, the CJ found its most comfortable home in the Mach 1, a new fastback performance model with the name and image to complement the CJ's power and performance. Now is your chance to own one!
The car is an absolute standout. This 1969 Mustang Mach 1 presents itself today much like it did when it rolled off the Metuchen assembly line on October 15, 1968.
I have been personally restoring this car for almost 4 years. I used the best original parts available. Parts were sandblasted before painting. If I purchase parts, I bought "correct" parts wherever possible.
I
have a 1 year old boy and cannot devote any more time to finishing the
car. The good news is the hard work is
already done. This car needs a good home
to finish off the very few last details or customize it to your liking. This car can even be driven while the
remaining details are finished off! This
car is a beast!
The
remaining items are a matter of personal preference. Items like the rims and tires are very much a
personal decision and one of the easiest ways to change the look of a vehicle. A lot of people like the Mag 500s on their
Mach 1s, some even like big rims and tires for that restomod look. I have a complete set of original seat belts
that need restoring. You could also
purchase new seat belts for piece-of-mind (new 3 point setups are also
available. Items like the carburetor, shifter,
and distributor are in 100% working order (the Pertronix ignition is better
than a points system as it doesn’t wear out), but not concourse correct. This car can be finished to be concourse
correct, restomod, or anywhere in between!
I
have a clean California title in my name and the car is currently
registered. I have a Marti report for
the car as well.
As
you can see from the Marti report this car is very much like it was when it
left the factory floor. It is an
original 4 speed car!

All four rims have been painted grey at some point
before me. There all 4 hubcaps in good
condition and 4 trim rings in very good condition.
The
tires hold air and have a decent amount of tread, although they are a few years
old and should be replaced before driving this car any distance.
There
is a FORD steel rim spare tire with a good used tire on it, original jack and
lugnut wrench

New reverse lights and lenses. New front and rear side marker bezels and reflectors. Front markers are correct 1969 marker lights.
